The objective of the project titled "Cloud-Based Secure Fingerprint Authentication and File Management System" is to develop a robust and efficient system that combines biometric authentication and Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) for secure file management in a cloud environment. It aims to ensure data confidentiality, privacy, and integrity by using fingerprint-based biometric matching for secure user login and ECC for encrypting and decrypting files during storage and retrieval. Additionally, the system provides seamless access management and monitoring through a cloud administrator module. This integration ensures enhanced security, prevents unauthorized access, and offers a user-friendly platform for managing sensitive data in the cloud.
The proposed project, the Cloud Based Secure Fingerprint Authentication and File Management System, will enable the effective, easy to use, and secure system to access files and make sure a highly secure platform is created to manage sensitive files using fingerprint authentication and dire cryptitalgorithms. In this system the user enrolls finger print images which are stored securely and are used in authentication in the form of biometric matching. After a successful authentication, uploading their files is possible and will be encrypted using a combination of RSA-DH (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman with Diffie-Hellman), bcrypt, ChaCha20-poly1305, and EdDSA (Edwards-curve Digital Signature Algorithm) to achieve confidentiality, integrity and security in the data management process. All of these algorithms have been chosen due to their effectiveness in protecting data that have been stored in the cloud, where RSA-DH is recommended in the secure key exchange, bcrypt in the password hash security, ChaCha20-Poly1305 as the authenticated encryption and EdDSA in the effective and secure digital signatures. The users can also request a specific file that is encrypted to be downloaded over the system, which can be decrypted back with the respective decryption keys. The platform also features a cloud administrator module, which allows the administrator to track sessions, the activities of the user, and control file access and maintain privacy and security to a high standard. The biometric authentication used together with these high-security cryptography methods greatly intensifies the security of personal information and provides the effortless and safe control of files stored in a cloud-based environment. The solution eliminates the standard use of Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and opts instead to using the more efficient, scalable, and secure solutions that offer a greater level of protection against current cybersecurity threats.
