Voltage Stability Enhancement Using FACTS Devices

Objective

The main objective of this project is to enhance the voltage profile improvement in transmission systems by using FACTS DEVICES.

Abstract

This paper presents the operation of UPFC and SVC control for effective power system stability. The purpose of this work is to study the contribution of FACTS devices to damp the fluctuation of voltage under fault condition. The simulation results are applied to the IEEE 14-bus test system, and show that including UPFC and SVC improves the accuracy of voltage stability of power system. The simulation results can be evaluated by using MATLAB/SIMULINK Software.
