Smart Inventory system for Expiry Date tracking System

Project Code :TEMBMA3667

Objective

To design a smart inventory system for tracking the expiry dates of products using IoT and automation. The system aims to provide real-time notifications and alerts, ensuring efficient inventory management and reducing waste

Abstract

The Smart Inventory System for Expiry Date Tracking is a Raspberry Pi-based solution developed to ensure the safe management of medical inventories. The system uses an Excel sheet to store and monitor expiry dates of RFID-tagged medicines. When an RFID card is scanned, the system verifies the item against the stored data and checks if it has expired. If any expired item is detected, or if temperature and humidity values monitored by the DHT11 sensor exceed safe thresholds, the system sends an alert via GSM and activates appropriate LED indicatorsβ€”red for alert and green for normal. A moisture sensor is also integrated to detect wet conditions that could compromise medicine quality. This system enhances safety and reliability in managing sensitive medicinal stock.
