Objective

The objective of this project is to develop a smart hostel management system that automates administrative tasks and ensures secure data handling. The system aims to provide efficient room allocation, student management, and mess services. A major objective is to integrate blockchain technology for secure payment storage, ensuring transparency and preventing data tampering. The system also focuses on improving communication between users and providing real-time updates. By implementing a centralized platform, the project aims to enhance efficiency, reliability, and user satisfaction in hostel management.

Abstract

The Smart Hostel Automation and Management System for Educational Institutions is a web-based application designed to simplify and automate hostel operations. The system manages student accommodation, room allocation, mess services, and fee payments through a centralized platform. It supports three user roles: Owner, Warden, and Student, each with specific functionalities. A key feature of this system is the integration of blockchain technology for secure payment storage. All payment transactions are recorded in a decentralized and tamper-proof ledger, ensuring data integrity and transparency. This prevents fraud and unauthorized modifications in financial records. The system is developed using Django for backend processing and SQLite for database management. Students can book rooms, check availability, and make payments online. Wardens manage rooms, students, and hostel services, while the Owner monitors the entire system. By replacing manual processes, the system improves efficiency, reduces errors, and enhances security. The use of blockchain ensures reliable and immutable transaction records. Overall, the system provides a smart, secure, and scalable solution for modern hostel management.
