Sensor based Solar Tracker System using Electronic Circuits for Moisture Detection and Auto-Irrigation

Project Code :TEMBMA3331

Abstract

Solar energy is one of the most commonly used types of renewable energy in areas that experience a lot of sunlight annually. Most solar panels are installed in a stationary position where they receive solar radiations from the sun. But still, there is a lot of solar energy that escapes as the sun rises and sets. DC motors are used for dual axis movements of the panel, as it seeks for points where sunlight energy is highest.

Programming of this device is done in the manner that the LDR sensor, in accordance with the detection of the sun rays, will provide direction to the DC Motor that in which way the solar panel is going to revolve. Through this, the solar panel is positioned in such a manner that the maximum amount of sun rays could be received. This system is powered by Arduino, consists of servo motor, DC motor, Soil Moisture sensor.

Keywords: Arduino, LDR Sensors, GSM, Solar Panel, Sunlight, irrigation.
