Semantic-aware searching over Encrypted Data for Cloud Computing

Objective

The objective of this study is to explore and implement the RSA algorithm for securing data in cloud computing environments by encrypting data before it is uploaded to the cloud and decrypting it upon retrieval. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of RSA in ensuring data confidentiality and integrity, protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access on third-party cloud servers, and addressing the potential challenges associated with its application in cloud computing.

Abstract

In the era of cloud computing, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of data stored in the cloud is paramount. The RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) algorithm, a widely used public-key cryptosystem, provides a robust method for securing data through encryption and decryption. This study explores the application of the RSA algorithm for encrypting data before it is uploaded to the cloud and decrypting it upon retrieval. By leveraging the strengths of RSA, this approach ensures that sensitive information remains protected from unauthorized access, even when stored on third-party cloud servers. The paper discusses the implementation of RSA encryption and decryption in a cloud computing environment, evaluates its performance, and highlights the benefits and potential challenges associated with its use.
