Objective

The rapid advancement of vehicular networks necessitates robust mechanisms for reputation management to enhance trust and security among vehicles. This paper proposes a secure and scalable reputation updating scheme for cloud-assisted vehicular networks, leveraging cloud-based aggregation and homomorphic encryption.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of vehicular networks necessitates robust mechanisms for reputation management to enhance trust and security among vehicles. This paper proposes a secure and scalable reputation updating scheme for cloud-assisted vehicular networks, leveraging cloud-based aggregation and homomorphic encryption. The system integrates a Trusted Authority (TA) and Roadside Units (RSUs) with a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) to facilitate privacy-preserving feedback collection and reputation computation. Using Paillier encryption, the scheme ensures that individual vehicle feedback remains confidential while allowing aggregated updates. The architecture employs elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) for certificate issuance and employs a weighted reputation model to reflect vehicle behavior accurately. Implemented with React, Tailwind CSS, TypeScript, Python, Django, Django REST Framework, and MySQL, the system offers a scalable, secure, and user-friendly interface. Experimental results demonstrate improved efficiency and privacy compared to existing methods, making it suitable for real-world deployment in intelligent transportation systems.
