Revolutionizing Waste Management with IoT-Driven Automated Segregation and Alerts

Project Code :TEMBMA3533

Objective

IoT technology with waste management, automating segregation processes and issuing alerts, fostering efficient recycling, reducing environmental impact, and revolutionizing urban sanitation practices.

Abstract

This project focuses on revolutionizing waste management through IoT-driven automated segregation and alerts. It utilizes an IR sensor to detect the presence of waste, an ultrasonic sensor to monitor the dustbin's fill level, and a soil moisture sensor to distinguish between wet and dry waste. When the IR sensor detects waste, the soil moisture sensor determines whether it is wet or dry. If the waste is wet, it is automatically directed into the wet waste bin via a servo motor; if the waste is dry, it is directed to the dry waste bin. The system also integrates a GSM module and a buzzer to send alerts when the dustbin is full or when any other predefined condition is met, ensuring efficient waste segregation and timely disposal alerts. This smart waste management solution enhances recycling, reduces human intervention, and optimizes waste collection processes.
