Objective

The main objective of this project is to design and implement a reading aid and translator using Raspberry Pi to assist blind individuals in reading printed text and translating it into accessible formats, thereby promoting greater independence and accessibility in daily life

Abstract

The Reading Aid and Translator with Raspberry Pi for Blind People is a groundbreaking assistive technology designed to empower individuals with visual impairments. Utilizing the Raspberry Pi microprocessor unit, this innovative device employs a camera as input and headphones as output, enabling seamless interaction for users. Through the integration of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) techniques, the system can capture text from images and convert it into spoken words. This transformative tool provides translation and reading support, bridging the gap between the visual world and the auditory senses. By leveraging the power of Raspberry Pi and advanced algorithms, this solution enhances accessibility, allowing visually impaired individuals to engage with printed materials and digital content more independently and efficiently.
