Abstract

This project presents a Raspberry Pi-based system architecture for tracking passenger movement within an airport terminal using RFID technology. Each passenger is issued an RFID tag, which uniquely identifies them throughout their journey. RFID readers are strategically installed at key locations such as check-in counters, security checkpoints, boarding gates, and other critical zones within the terminal. As passengers pass through these points, their RFID tags are detected and the corresponding data—such as location and timestamp—is automatically logged into an Excel sheet for real-time tracking and historical analysis. The Raspberry Pi acts as the central processing unit, handling data collection, storage, and display. Additionally, a connected LCD screen provides a live feed of passenger movements and updates, enhancing terminal monitoring, improving passenger flow management, and contributing to overall airport security and efficiency.
