Online Course Curriculum Design for Subject Matter Experts An Agile Methodology
Objective
To develop a secure, scalable, AI-enhanced web platform that allows administrators to create and manage online course shells, while enabling Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to explore, search, review, and propose collaborative improvements to these courses using a structured four-phase Agile methodology (Researching & Ideating ? Course Planning ? Course Iterating ? Course Publishing). The platform integrates Google Gemini AI to deliver personalized curriculum recommendations, incorporates continuous learner feedback through reviews, and provides administrative governance by allowing admins to monitor all reviews, respond to SME improvement suggestions, and control final approvals—ensuring course quality, relevance, relevance, and rapid iterative enhancement.
Abstract
The Agile Online Course Curriculum Design (AOCCD) Platform is an AI-powered, web-based middleware solution that empowers Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) — even those without prior instructional design experience — to efficiently create high-quality online courses using a structured yet flexible four-phase Agile methodology: Researching & Ideating → Course Planning → Course Iterating → Course Publishing. By integrating Google Gemini AI for intelligent curriculum recommendations, continuous learner feedback loops, and collaborative improvement workflows, the platform dramatically reduces cognitive overload, prevents project abandonment, and increases final course completion rates. Administrators retain full governance over SME onboarding, course categorization, version control, and quality assurance through approval/rejection of user-suggested enhancements. AOCCD delivers secure, scalable RESTful APIs and real-time collaboration features, enabling seamless integration into existing Learning Management Systems (LMS), corporate training portals, or independent ed-tech applications.
