This project presents a passenger localization system for in-vehicle personalization using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacons, designed to enhance the passenger experience in public transportation. The system utilizes an ESP32 master module installed in the bus and multiple ESP32 slave modules carried by passengers as BLE beacons. The master ESP32 communicates with the slave beacons to determine the proximity of passengers to the bus. By measuring the signal strength (RSSI) between the master and slave devices, the system can calculate the distance between the passenger and the bus. An LCD display on the bus shows this distance information, providing insights into the number of passengers boarding or the location of the closest passenger. This system not only enables personalized services, such as seat preferences or notifications, but also optimizes the passenger boarding process, improving efficiency and user satisfaction in public transportation systems.
