Novel Dynamic Voltage Restorer with Multi-Functional Capability

Project Code :TEPGPS521

Objective

The main objective of this project is maintaining good Power Quality and un- interrupted power are extremely important goals at many type of facilities at the present scenario.

Abstract

In this project presents to maintaining good Power Quality and un- interrupted power are extremely important goals at many type of facilities at the present scenario. As the power demand goes on increasing, Renewable energy integration becomes a vital part in power system. REI also results in many PQ issues. Hence it becomes necessary to recognize and compensate all types of disturbances at an earliest time to ensure normal and efficient operation of the power system. Among the various custom power devices used for PQ improvement, Dynamic Voltage Restorer is the most efficient and effective device that can be used to mitigate the PQ issues viewing their economic as well as implementation side. The control part of DVR has to be varied according to the nature of the load causing the Power Quality disturbance. Here a novel DVR with Multi-functional capabilities, which can solve the major Power Quality issues, is presented. The performance of the device is analyzed under different conditions such as like voltage swell, sag and harmonics as well as an outage. The operation of the improved DVR will be more efficient and accurate and energy saving when compared to other conventional DVRs. Simulation is performed in MATLAB/Simulink platform.
