The project's objective is to minimize medicine waste by facilitating the donation of nearing-expiry medications, promoting sustainability, and ensuring these medicines reach those in need through efficient inventory and donation management.
The “Mechanism to prevent Medicines from Getting Wasted” aims to develop a platform that ensures the proper utilization and distribution of medicines, especially those approaching their expiration dates, thereby reducing waste. The system allows sellers to add medicines to inventory, users to purchase them, and admins to manage expired or near-expiry medicines. The medicines that approach expiry are flagged, and users can request to donate them. These medicines are then collected by the admin and distributed to NGOs, promoting sustainability. By connecting sellers, users, and NGOs, the platform optimizes the distribution process, minimizing wastage and promoting social responsibility. The system is crucial for preventing the accumulation of expired medicines and improving access to healthcare for those in need.
