Objective

The objective of the Low-Power High-Speed Accuracy-Controllable Approximate Multiplier Design is to develop a multiplier that dynamically trades off accuracy for improvements in speed, power, and area. The design employs techniques such as carry-maskable adders and approximate tree compressors to control the propagation of carries, allowing flexible adjustment of accuracy based on application requirements. This enables efficient operation in error-tolerant systems, achieving reduced power consumption, shorter critical path delays, and lower silicon area compared to conventional multipliers.
