In this project, an IOT solution based on an ultra-low power MCU for public bicycle system to reach the city to alleviate traffic congestion is presented. The main concepts of public bicycles are free to use or affordable lease in the metropolitan area, which allows people to use public transport or bicycles replaced private vehicles to commute short distances in order to reduce carbon emissions, noise and air pollution. Current public bicycle system still faces many critical issues, such as some of the rental bike station in hot spot zones may not have available parking spaces in the rush hour, rented bicycle stolen rate and so on. Therefore, we propose a smart IOT solution which combined the existing public bicycle rental system, lithium ion battery charging circuit, a bicycle have Dynamo Hub, low-power microcontroller, GPS module, and 3.5G communication Module to realize smart bike localization scheme with remote and monitoring. Through GPS localization sensor on the public bike, remote control center is allowed to monitor the position of the bicycle transmissions to prevent the congestion of the public bicycle station, and also monitoring the Lithium-ion betrays status for power assisted bicycles too.
