Objective

The Hostel Inventory Management System (HIMS) is a sophisticated solution designed to streamline and optimize inventory management in hostel facilities.

Abstract

The IoT-Enhanced Hostel Inventory Management System leverages Raspberry Pi, an LCD display, and CSV file-based data to efficiently monitor and manage hostel groceries. The system stores grocery data in a CSV file, which includes inventory details such as quantity and item names. Upon running the system, users can input the groceries they need, and the system checks the inventory levels. If the stock of any grocery item is below a predefined threshold, the system automatically suggests that the item needs to be restocked. This information is displayed on the LCD for quick reference, ensuring seamless resource monitoring and timely purchasing decisions. This solution enhances the management of hostel supplies, streamlining inventory control and reducing the chances of running out of essential items.
