Abstract

Each year, millions of dollars are invested on road maintenance and reparation all over the world. In order to minimize costs, one of the main aspects is the early detection of those flaws. Different types of cracks require different types of repairs; therefore, not only a crack detection is required but a crack type classification. This work obtained an average of 88% of success detecting cracks and an 80% of success detecting the type of the crack. It could be implemented in a vehicle traveling as fast as 130 kmh or 81 mph.

In this work we are introducing a project that aims in designing crack detection scheme (CDS) using ultrasonic Sensor. This avoids the vehicle accidents by detecting the cracks on bridge tracks. And also capable of alerting the authorities in the form of SMS messages along with location by using GPS and GSM modules. The system also includes distance measuring sensor which displays the track deviation distance between the two tracks. This will save several vehicles in India from unwanted damages from the bridge track.

This work introduces a project that aims in designing railway crack detection scheme (CDS) using TSOP ultrasonic RECEIVER SENSOR assembly system which avoids the road accidents by detecting the cracks on bridge tracks. And also capable of alerting the authorities in the form of SMS messages along with location by using GPS and GSM modules. The system also includes distance measuring sensor which displays the track deviation distance between the bridge tracks.
