The objective of this research is to design and implement a high-efficiency AC/DC integrated fast charging system using a multi-input mode selection converter for electric vehicles, enabling operation from multiple power sources with minimal switching losses, high charging efficiency, and enhanced flexibility for renewable energy integration.
This paper presents the design and operation of a multi-input mode selection converter (MIMSC) integrated with both AC and DC charging interfaces to enable fast charging of electric vehicle (EV) batteries. The proposed system allows flexible operation from multiple energy sources, such as the grid, photovoltaic systems, and energy storage units, with seamless switching between modes. By incorporating high-efficiency power conversion stages and optimized control strategies, the system ensures rapid charging, reduced power losses, and improved power quality. Simulation results validate the feasibility of the design, demonstrating high charging efficiency and reliable operation under various load and source conditions.
