To design and simulate a satellite data frame generator with CRC for error detection, analyzing the performance of BPSK and QPSK modulation schemes in terms of BER, efficiency, and robustness.
This paper presents the design and simulation of a satellite data frame generator with Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) for error detection, evaluating the performance of Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) and Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK) modulation schemes. The system ensures data integrity using CRC while transmitting over a satellite communication link. BPSK and QPSK are analyzed in terms of bit error rate (BER), spectral efficiency, and robustness under various Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) conditions. BPSK, known for its resilience in low SNR environments, demonstrates superior reliability at the cost of lower data throughput. QPSK, on the other hand, offers higher spectral efficiency by transmitting two bits per symbol, achieving improved data rates while maintaining acceptable BER in moderate to high SNR conditions. Simulation results show that while BPSK is better suited for highly noisy channels, QPSK provides a favorable trade-off between efficiency and reliability, making it a more effective choice for satellite communication systems where bandwidth utilization is critical.
