The main objective of this project is to develop a Fast Charging Station for Electric Vehicles (EVs) based on a DC Microgrid. This likely includes optimizing power flow, managing charging demand, integrating renewable energy sources or energy storage, and ensuring stable DC bus operation

Abstract

This paper proposes an increasing demand for Electric Vehicles (EVs) necessitates the development of efficient and reliable charging infrastructure. This project proposes the design and implementation of a Fast Charging Station for EVs based on a DC microgrid. The system leverages the benefits of direct current (DC) technology to reduce power conversion losses and improve overall charging efficiency. A key feature of the proposed system is its integration with renewable energy sources such as solar photovoltaics (PV) This integration ensures a sustainable and flexible energy supply, enabling the charging station to operate independently of the main grid during peak demand periods or outages. Additionally, the DC microgrid architecture facilitates easier energy management and distribution, allowing for optimal power flow between renewable sources and EVs The proposed system addresses key challenges in EV infrastructure by reducing charging time, improving energy efficiency, and enabling sustainable operation through the integration of renewable energy. The design and simulation are carried out using MATLAB/Simulink, software 2024a.
