Objective

To develop a user-friendly, secure web platform that facilitates ration distribution through three integrated modules: User (Beneficiary) for registration and requests, Dealer (FPS Operator) for stock management and approvals, and Administrator for oversight. The system ensures end-to-end digitization—from registration and stock viewing to QR-confirmed pickups—while providing real-time notifications, and analytics to optimize PDS efficiency, portability, and compliance.

Abstract

The E-Ration System is a secure, web-based platform designed to modernize the Public Distribution System (PDS) in India by digitizing ration card management, stock tracking, and distribution processes. It enables eligible beneficiaries (Users) to register, view available stock, request subsidized essentials like rice, sugar, and wheat, and receive QR-coded confirmations for seamless pickup. Dealers manage inventory, approve requests, and ensure transparent distribution, while Administrators oversee ration card issuance, stock monitoring, and system-wide compliance. By leveraging QR codes for verification, automated notifications, and real-time database synchronization, the system minimizes fraud, reduces black marketing, eliminates manual errors, and enhances accessibility—particularly for migrant workers via inter-state portability. Built as a scalable middleware solution with RESTful APIs, it integrates effortlessly with state PDS portals, Aadhaar e-KYC, and mobile apps, promoting food security under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).
