Develop a secure, transparent deduplication scheme for cloud storage with integrity auditing, ensuring privacy, efficiency, and user cooperation.
Cloud storage saves space by removing duplicate files, but securing deduplication is challenging. Traditional methods require users to encrypt files with specific algorithms that aren't fully secure, and users don't clearly benefit from storage savings due to opaque pricing. This lack of transparency discourages users from adopting secure encryption methods. Users also worry about data integrity—their data should remain accurate and unaltered. To address these issues, the paper proposes a new, transparent, and secure deduplication scheme that supports integrity auditing. This scheme not only securely saves space but also allows users to verify their data's integrity. Unlike previous solutions, this method confirms both the number of file owners and the integrity of a file with a single proof, improving efficiency. It also protects the privacy of file contents and ownership information from malicious users. Additionally, it includes a batch auditing feature to verify multiple files at once. Theoretical analysis confirms its correctness and security, and comparisons show it performs well against earlier solutions.
