Electric Guard For Blind

Project Code :TEMBMI2215

Objective

The main objective of this project is to alert blind by using an IR sensor to detect obstacle

Abstract

Technologies are growing very fast, which helps people to get a better and easier life. The smart stick is a technique to help sightless people to recognize their way. Sightless People suffer from the lack of ability to do their daily activities, from walking in the street, detecting stairs and water pits, to visiting friends or relative or any daily things. Therefore, the solution for this major problem is proposed by designing a stick that can aid the person to walk safely without having fear of hitting someone on the way or any solid objects. In this paper we propose a solution, represented in a smart stick with infrared sensor to detect any obstacles in front of the user. The stick is capable of detecting all obstacles in the range and buzzer will hoot to warn them. The smart stick is of low cost, fast response, low power consumption, light weight and ability to fold and more safety for both indoor and outdoor applications. Here we are using IR sensor instead of ultrasonic sensor because it has low cost than ultrasonic sensor. Here we are using IR sensor, it will detect any object is there or not. If object is detected buzzer will hoot. Buzzer is connected via relay. Relay act as a switch for buzzer. We are giving output of IR sensor to relays input. Output of Relay is given to buzzer. When object detected by IR sensor it will activate buzzer.
