The project harnesses IoT capabilities to develop a sign language translator that converts gestures into words, facilitating communication for the hearing impaired and fostering inclusivity in society.
This project aims to develop a sign language translator using IoT technology, which translates hand gestures into spoken language. The system is designed with flex sensors embedded in gloves to detect and interpret finger movements, converting these gestures into words in English and regional languages, including Telugu and Tamil. The translated text is then spoken aloud through a speaker, enhancing communication between sign language users and those who do not understand sign language. This solution seeks to improve accessibility, foster inclusivity, and bridge communication barriers, making interactions clearer and more efficient for individuals using sign language.
