Abstract
CREDINTIAL BASED AUTHENTICATION
ABSTRACT
On day to day basis people access various websites like net banking, trading, social websites,e-mail websites, Government websites and other websites. Each site has different login Id’s& password, which is unmanageable i.e. it is not possible to remember login Id & password of each site and it is not safe to write it down. We need a solution like universal authentication system which is secure and manageable. The challenge is to overcome the use of too many login Id’s & password. In order to overcome this we can make use of different technologies like OTP mechanism, biometric authentication mechanism, and so on. Here we are using OTP based mechanism to provide an alternative for the good old traditional credential based authentication. One Time Password method delivers a higher-level of authentication assurance, which is essential for security.
