To develop Shieldy, a mobile app enhancing women’s safety in colleges through community-based reporting, real-time location sharing, AI-driven chatbot support, and direct helpline access, fostering a secure and responsive campus environment.
Shieldy is a mobile application designed to enhance women's safety on college and university campuses through community-based reporting and monitoring. It offers user registration, login, profile management, and emergency contact features, allowing users to add, delete, or call contacts directly. An AI-powered safety chatbot provides real-time guidance, while an SOS button instantly shares the user’s location with designated contacts. Pressing '1' in the chatbot triggers a call to the women’s helpline (181). By fostering collaboration between students, faculty, and authorities, Shieldy enables discreet incident reporting and real-time safety trend monitoring via GPS and data visualization. The app empowers women by promoting proactive safety measures, ensuring swift responses to emergencies, and creating a secure campus environment. Its intuitive interface and generative AI integration make it a vital tool for addressing safety concerns effectively.
