To design and implement an automated system that sends timely SMS alerts to parents or guardians reminding them about their children’s upcoming and missed vaccination schedules, thereby improving immunization compliance, reducing dropouts, and ensuring better child health management.
This project presents a Children Vaccination Reminder System that helps parents receive timely vaccination alerts through SMS notifications. The system uses an Arduino microcontroller as the main controller, an RTC (Real Time Clock) module for maintaining accurate date and time, an LCD display for user interaction, and push buttons for setting vaccination schedules. A GSM module is used to send pre-vaccination reminder messages and post-vaccination confirmation messages to parents. Vaccination records, child details, and vaccination status are stored in an Excel database using Python programming. The system reduces the possibility of missed vaccinations, improves child healthcare management, and provides a simple and cost-effective solution for vaccination monitoring in hospitals, clinics, and rural healthcare centers.
