Blockchain Based Solution for Secured Transmission of Examination Paper

Objective

The objective of the project is to design a secure and efficient examination management system that ensures confidentiality, integrity, and accountability. Key objectives include: enabling COE to request and select question papers securely, allowing teachers to create, encrypt, and upload papers safely, providing a transparent mechanism to store and track paper-related metadata, ensuring students can access papers and grades securely, and leveraging blockchain for immutable storage of teacher and paper information. The system aims to reduce manual errors, prevent unauthorized access or leaks, automate paper management workflows, and maintain a verifiable audit trail to strengthen the overall examination process.

Abstract

The Secure Question Paper Management System is designed to enhance the integrity, confidentiality, and accountability of examination processes. Traditional exam management often suffers from paper leaks, unauthorized access, and manual inefficiencies, compromising fairness and trust. This system integrates blockchain technology and encryption methods to ensure secure paper distribution and storage. The Chief of Examination (COE) initiates registration, course selection, and paper requests, while teachers create and encrypt question papers using symmetric keys and store relevant metadata securely in a private blockchain. Encrypted papers are transmitted back to the COE, ensuring data confidentiality. Students can securely access exam papers, monitor the process, and view grades after evaluation. By combining asymmetric and symmetric encryption with blockchain storage, the system prevents unauthorized access, ensures immutability of records, and provides a transparent audit trail. Implementation of this workflow automates exam paper handling, improves accountability, reduces manual errors, and strengthens the overall security of academic assessments. The solution is adaptable for different educational institutions and can scale to handle multiple courses, branches, and semesters while maintaining data security and process efficiency
