Objective

The main objective of this project is to develop an automatic license plate detection and recognition system using image processing techniques. This system will use cameras to detect license plates, verify their correctness, and grant entry based on valid plate recognition, enhancing security and efficiency in access control scenarios.

Abstract

This project introduces an Automatic License Plate Detection and Recognition System designed to enhance security and efficiency in access control scenarios. Utilizing a Raspberry Pi as the main microcontroller and OpenCV for image processing, the system captures images of license plates and converts them into text for recognition. Cameras are used to detect and verify the license plates, ensuring only valid plates are granted access. The system also integrates a GSM module to send alerts and notifications based on plate recognition results. This combination of real-time image processing, automated plate recognition, and GSM communication provides a robust solution for managing access control with improved security and operational efficiency.
