Abstract

This project presents an agent-based IoT system for intelligent energy monitoring in buildings, aimed at improving energy efficiency and safety. The system utilizes PZEM sensors to monitor electrical parameters such as voltage, current, power, and energy consumption from two connected electrical loads. These sensors are interfaced with a NodeMCU, which processes the data and uploads it to the ThingSpeak cloud platform for real-time monitoring and analysis. An LCD displays live data locally, providing immediate insights into energy usage. In the event of abnormal conditions—such as overvoltage, overcurrent, or excessive power consumption—the system triggers a buzzer alarm and sends an alert message via GSM to a registered mobile number. This intelligent, automated approach enhances energy management by enabling timely detection of faults, preventing energy waste, and supporting safer and more sustainable building operations.
