To develop a solar PV system with ANN-GWO based MPPT integrated with a hybrid energy storage system for efficient power extraction, stable DC-link voltage, and reliable energy supply under varying irradiance and MRI load conditions.
This work presents the design and implementation of a DC-side energy management system for a photovoltaic (PV) based power system under dynamic operating conditions. The system integrates a PV array, boost converter, battery, and super capacitor connected through a common DC bus. A hybrid control strategy combining Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) is employed to achieve efficient maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and improved system performance. The ANN provides fast duty cycle estimation, while GWO refines it for reduced oscillations and enhanced tracking accuracy. The system is tested under varying solar irradiance and nonlinear load conditions to evaluate stability and dynamic response. Results demonstrate effective power extraction, improved voltage regulation, and reliable energy management, making the system suitable for applications such as MRI load support.
