Abstract

This project presents a smart healthcare solution for adjusting a patient's bed position using gesture recognition through image processing. The system is designed to assist patients with limited mobility by allowing them to control bed adjustments through simple hand gestures. A Raspberry Pi serves as the main controller, integrated with a gesture sensor and a camera module. The camera captures real-time images, and image processing algorithms are applied to recognize specific hand gestures. Based on the detected gesture, the system activates servo motors to move the bed either forward or backward accordingly. An LCD display provides visual feedback on the current bed position and system status. This contactless and user-friendly system enhances patient comfort, reduces dependency on caregivers, and promotes hygienic, hands-free interaction, making it a valuable addition to modern healthcare environments.
