The main objective of the project is to design and implement a Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) based boost DC-DC converter using an auxiliary circuit for enhanced energy efficiency in vehicle-to-grid applications. This system aims to reduce switching losses by achieving soft switching conditions, which improves converter efficiency.
This paper presents a Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) based soft switching technique for boost DC-DC converter using an auxiliary circuit configuration, comprising of an auxiliary diode, an inductor, and a switch. This auxiliary inductor offers ZVS condition for the main switch, thereby annulling out the ripple component of inductor current and alleviating the switching losses. The auxiliary circuit has a supplementary benefit of storing energy in the auxiliary inductor which transmits the stored energy through the diode to the load. A soft switching ZVS boost DC-DC converter is used in vehicle to grid application for the efficient operation of the system. The simulation for boost converter using ZVS technique is carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK software platform, and the findings were examined.
