This project presents a smartphone-based system for improving pedestrian safety using a Raspberry Pi, integrated with four sound sensors and Bluetooth communication. The system is designed to detect potential dangers such as approaching vehicles from all four directions—front, back, left, and right—by continuously monitoring the surrounding environment through the strategically placed sound sensors. When a significant or alarming sound is detected in any direction, the Raspberry Pi processes the input and immediately triggers an alert message. This alert is transmitted via Bluetooth to the pedestrian's smartphone, notifying them of potential danger and enabling timely awareness and action. The system offers a low-cost, portable solution for enhancing pedestrian safety in busy or hazardous areas by providing real-time audio-based situational awareness.
