A Review of Nanogrid Technologies for Forming Reliable Residential Grid

Project Code :TEMAPS469

Objective

The objective of this paper is to maintain power management in Nano-grid.

Abstract

This paper is focused on portraying the importance of NG for rural electrification of India. The source-load coordination in the NG will ensure the optimal power flow in the grid. This paper has reviewed two most important control techniques i.e. centralized and decentralized for ensuring source-load coordination in the NG.

Interfacing converters are the important constituents of NG to dispatch the power from intermittent renewable energy sources to load. Depending on the type of generation (AC or DC) and type of load, a variety of NG technologies are available in the literature. A critical review of most popular power electronic technologies suitable for NG applications is presented.

Keywords: Nanogrid, centralized control, decentralized control, small hydro power station, cooperative power management strategy, DC microgrid.
