Objective

The main objective of the proposed method is to decrease in the voltage stress across the VSI switches and improves the performance of the system.

Abstract

This article achieves the improved performance of PV‑DSTATCOM to establish the grid integration and power quality enhancement. In the proposed system, during PV-DSTATCOM state, photovoltaic (PV) array power is used to maintain the dc-link voltage, by extracting the maximum power based on perturb and observe (P&O) algorithm and supplying the excess power into the grid. Whereas, during DSTATCOM state, a reference dc-link voltage control scheme is proposed based on the connected load on the point of common coupling (PCC), and thus regulates the dc-link voltage and enhances the PV‑DSTATCOM performance. The control signals for the VSI are generated based on the modified synchronous reference frame (SRF) control scheme. The effectuality of the proposed system is validated by the MATLAB simulation results.
