Here in this project, The mentioned three-phase series-connected asymmetric hybrid modular multilevel converter SCAH-MMC has advantage of less number of switches by means of connecting levels in series to face up to the dc-bus voltage and has the dc fault ride-thru capability through in part using full bridge sub-modules. The equipment model and operation precept of SCAH-MMC is elaborated, which shows the immunity of SCAH-MMC from dc faults. In order to clear up the third harmonic trouble of SCAH-MMC, the interactions of harmonic additives in palms are investigated. Based on that, two feed-forward 0.33 harmonic suppression strategies are proposed. Furthermore, a manage approach for SCAH-MMC is introduced to keep dc voltage balancing in every section underneath unbalanced ac fault conditions. The effectiveness of third harmonic suppression techniques and proposed manage techniques of SCAH-MMC are confirmed by simulations using MATLAB/SIMULINK. SCAH-MMC is as compared with other MMC topologies in phrases of price and control to reveal the merits of it.
