The primary objective of this research is to design, model, and analyze a novel high-boost five-level inverter capable of operating efficiently under a wide range of input voltage variations in photovoltaic (PV) applications. The goal is to achieve high voltage gain without using magnetic components, minimize voltage stress on power switches, and enhance overall system efficiency.
This paper proposes a novel high-boost five-level inverter topology tailored for photovoltaic (PV) applications operating under wide variations of input voltage. By integrating a switched-capacitor network with a traditional multilevel inverter structure, the proposed inverter achieves high voltage gain without the need for a large number of passive components or extreme duty cycles. The topology ensures reduced voltage stress on components, and enhanced efficiency under variable irradiance conditions. Simulation and experimental results validate the performance improvements for renewable energy integration.
