Objective

The main objective of this project is to design and implement a three-port electric drive reconfiguration converter (TP-EDROC) for a Mobile Emergency Energy Storage Vehicle to achieve multifunctional operation including propulsion, grid interaction, and direct DC–DC power transfer.

Abstract

This project Presents a three-port electric drive–reconstructed onboard converter (TP-EDROC) for mobile emergency energy storage vehicles (MEESVs), aimed at ensuring rapid restoration of critical loads during severe natural disasters and accidents. Conventional MEESVs are typically equipped with only a single DC or AC power port, limiting them to single-port emergency energy support. In the proposed approach, an additional DC port is introduced by integrating an electric drive–reconstructed onboard converter (EDROC) with split-phase open-winding motors. This integration enables simultaneous multi-port energy supply, significantly improving the reliability, adaptability, and operational flexibility of emergency power delivery. The study focuses on the detailed modelling of the TP-EDROC topology, stability analysis, and the development of an advanced control strategy to coordinate multiple energy ports effectively. Experimental validation confirms the feasibility, versatility, and robustness of the proposed system, making it a promising solution for modern emergency power supply applications.
