A New Structure of Bidirectional DC-DC Converter for Electric Vehicle Applications

Also Available Domains DC - DC Converters

Project Code :TEMAED149

Objective

The main objective of this project is to develop a new structure of Bidirectional DC-DC Converter for Electric Vehicle Applications

Abstract

This paper presents a new multi-input multi-output bidirectional DC-DC converter is proposed which is suitable for electric and hybrid vehicles applications. The main advantage of the proposed structure is that it can utilize different energy sources with different voltage-current characteristics. Moreover, the proposed structure is bidirectional, and battery could be charged in breaking mode too. High voltage gain as well as the mentioned features make this converter an excellent alternative for DC-DC converters in electric vehicles. The proposed topology is modeled and simulated in MATLAB/Simulink environment to validate the effectiveness of proposed converter.

Keywords: Bidirectional converter, DC-DC converters, electric vehicle, hybrid electric vehicle non-isolated converter.
