Objective

This project describes implementation of a low cost IOT based alert system for deaf and hearing impaired people for their safety purposes. Whenever someone presses the doorbell or tries to smash the door, image will be captured and sent to the owner mail along with an SMS alert.

Abstract

Deaf and people with hearing impairment face everyday challenges in identifying the occurrence of household sounds like door bell, child crying or phone ringing. The objective of this project is to design and implement a low cost stand-alone device for deaf people to notify doorbell ringing who live alone in their house. The system is based on Raspberry pi which includes camera, vibrator, wireless GSM. When the visitor presses the doorbell, captured image will be sent to their email along with an SMS alert. The same happens when someone tries to destroy the door, the vibration sensor will gets activated and sends the image to the owner through mail and along with SMS. The system is reliable, effective, and easy to use and also enhances the security of the user.
