Internet of Things based Smart Flood forecasting and Early Warning System

Project Code :TEMBMA3351

Objective

The main objective of this project is to alert when rain detects, flood detects and warn if they cross threshold values

Abstract

In general. Flood is considered as an inescapable natural event. Also, flood creates a huge economic damage and cause a significant loss in human life. Using different sensors, researchers made a flood level detecting device with the help of Arduino UNO. Floods are the natural disasters with creates the severe damage to the urban/rural sectors. In India, the agriculture sector has the highest impact due to the floods. Every year, 400 million hectares of Indian land is affected due to the floods. As majority of the people are in the cities, due to the floods they don’t get the water information easily and quickly. These mostly cause the property loss, Citizen Work loss or human loss. In this proposed design, alerting the system by monitoring near the dams regarding the status of the floods with sensors is the main objective. Proposed model is also useful for us in anticipating the upcoming calamities and to take essential activities by emergency and recover experts to spare the life of thousands of individuals before this basic condition happens. The Flood Detector System using Arduino is created to be one of the quickest strategies to monitor flood and Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the most important technical trends, which is utilized to monitor flood and human made resource to help in predicting and detecting essential events like flood, water leak that can position a threat to human life.
