E-Blood Bank Monitoring Hospitals

Objective

In this project, we are implementing an application for online blood banking for the purpose of reducing the time taken in emergency situations who need the blood.

Abstract

The e-Blood bank: Monitoring hospitals is a project which oversees the blood bank by maintaining a ready to serve blood to the people. There are many blood banks for each hospital looking over the needs of that particular hospital’s patients. This project deals with having a single administrator and having its clients. Clients are the hospitals. Each hospital would be provided with a unique ID. Through logging in with that ID hospitals can send the request for the need of blood, response from the administrator is also send to the hospital. The response must be the blood is either available or not for the requested units by the hospital. 

Blood bank has the certain limit of storing the blood and it has also a limited number of days in storing blood. If the time increases the blood must be disposed.  If any of the blood group is below 3 units (1unit=525ml) an automatic SMS and mail must be sent to the previous donors of the specified blood group. This creates centralized system over all the hospitals of the particular region this may reduce the causalities of deaths due to unavailability of the blood in the emergencies.
