Abstract

This project presents the implementation and analysis of an IoT-based environmental monitoring system utilizing three key wireless sensors—MQ2, MQ135, and DHT11—integrated with a Raspberry Pi. The system is designed to monitor critical environmental parameters such as smoke, hazardous gases (CO₂, NH₃, etc.), temperature, and humidity. Sensor data is continuously collected and displayed on an LCD screen in real-time. When any measured value exceeds predefined threshold levels, a buzzer is triggered as an immediate local alert, and an SMS notification is sent to designated recipients via a GSM module. Simultaneously, the real-time data is transmitted to the ThingSpeak cloud platform for remote monitoring and analytics. This system offers an efficient, low-cost solution for real-time environmental surveillance with potential applications in smart homes, industrial safety, and pollution control.
