A wearable system for respiratory and pace monitoring in running activities: a feasibility study

Project Code :TEMBPG898

Objective

The main objective of this project is to use a wearable device which is composed of MQ2 sensor for measuring carbon dioxide, temperature sensor for measuring body temperature and heart beat sensor for measuring heart beat of a person who wears this device. GSM/GPRS is used to send the same data to cloud if the corresponding values crossed threshold value and LCD for display too.

Abstract

Wearable devices are extensively used for monitoring physiological parameters both in clinical settings and in sports science. Among others, respiratory rate is mostly neglected but is a valid index to assess athletes’ performance.

The purpose of this project is to use a wearable device which is composed of MQ2 sensor for measuring CO2, temperature sensor for measuring body temperature and heart beat sensor for measuring heart beat of a person who wears this device. GSM/GPRS is used to send the same data to cloud if the corresponding values crossed threshold value and LCD for display too.
