A Smart Access Control for Restricted Buildings Using Vehicle Number Plates Recognition System

Project Code :TEMBMA3356

Objective

The main objective of this project is to allow the vehicles whose vehicle numbers are authorised only

Abstract

The increased security concerns in hotels, government facilities and business buildings require identifying entering vehicles and controlling access to these facilities. The platform is automated with license plate recognition based on images of vehicles. However, in situations where standardized plates are not used, image-based recognition, License plate, police and background deformation, Manual work is required so to overcome these shortcomings. This work proposes a project for an automatic gate access controlling system which scans the vehicle plate numbers using a camera and optical recognition algorithm. The project is designed with Arduino and servo motor whereas Python was also used as a development tool which will help in identifying the authorized license plate.

Keywords: Arduino, Number Plate, Servo Motor, Python, Optical character recognition (OCR).
