DRUNK AND DRIVE DETECTION WITH VEHICLE IGNITION LOCK USING RASPBERRY PI

Drowsiness and drunken driving causes the road accidents. This paper proposes a real time detection of driver’s drowsiness as well as alcohol intoxication and subsequently alerting them. In this system we are using alcoholic sensor with raspberry pi and a dc motor to demonstrate as vehicle engine. GSM is used to send sms notification. Alcoholic sensor will continuously check the driver’s alcoholic intensity. If the alcohol intensity is high it will send information to raspberry pi. Raspberry pi will in turn activate buzzer and stops the vehicle engine. GSM will send sms notification to the RTO as the driver exceeded alcohol limit along with the vehicle number. LCD is used to display the messages.
